Organically grown, seasonally curated, small batch blooms
& floral design.

I grow flowers for florists and individuals seeking organically grown and often rare blooms and I also design with my flowers for weddings and private events.

My own garden grows in rhythm with the seasons – full of texture, colour and movement. The plants lean toward the light, sway in the wind, catch frost in winter and bring my family joy through cold, wind, rain and sun. I’m part of it all β€” the sowing, propagating, planting, waiting, wilting β€” the quiet daily changes that come with each season.

Working with nature rather than trying to control it too tightly matters to me and the ecosystem in my garden. The health of my bees (I am also a beekeeper!) that visit my flowers, the worms in my soil and the birds and hedgehogs who eat them is as important as the people that enjoy them as cut flowers, so I never use chemicals – my flowers are organically grown. I know when to sow, how to grow and how to work with the weather in every corner of my garden and this helps me grow the best produce I possibly can.

I also visit peoples homes to help them make the most of their outdoor spaces, and I design gardens that invite movement, calm, and a quiet connection to nature. You can find out more at emilytaskergardens.co.uk.

a bit about me.

I graduated with a 1st in Graphic Design and began a 20-year career working for renowned fashion and music photographer Nick Knight. From there, I founded my own design studio in London, with many high profile clients including Bloom & Wild, the Hayward Gallery and Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle brand, Goop.

In my spare time, gardening gave me calm and happiness. On a tight budget, I transformed our grey South London garden - a depressing space dominated by concrete - into a garden buzzing with growth and colour. I grew cornflowers first, and I still remember the thrill of seeing them self-seed down the road, blooming through cracks in the pavement. The sense of possibility was overwhelming.

That experience, alongside raising 3 children, sparked a desire to live more authentically and meaningfully. I completed an RHS diploma in Garden Design, and when our youngest was just a month old, we moved to a 400-year-old cottage in Gloucestershire. I set to work clearing decades of brambles, spiky shrubs, bamboo and ground elder β€” one dig at a time.

Over the next four years, I restored the garden, filling it with my favourite flowers β€” most grown from seed, bare root or cutting. I created a space full of colour, scent, and seasonal joy for my family to enjoy all year round.

By summer 2023, I had swapped designing on a computer for designing with plants β€” creating gardens for schools and private clients, and growing flowers for weddings and events. Most recently, I created a meadow-style installation, complete with bridal bouquet, buttonholes and floral arrangements, for a wedding at the Bodleian Library in Oxford.

I look forward to working with more couples getting married, and to supplying florists and individuals with flowers grown in my garden.
